In 1995 Salamander Communications was started in a small appartment in Hudson, Ohio. It grew to became the premire Internet Access company in NE Ohio.
After growing to large for an appartment Salamander Junction moved from Hudson to the first floor of the Masonic Temple at 70 E. Mill Street in downtown Akron Ohio. The company offered full dialup, ISDN, and related services as well as an internet cafe.

Newreach aquired Maverick Ltd - "creative development company" primarily focused on aiding company in developing a presence online.
NewReach announced the acquisition of Advanced Internet Systems, Inc. for a combination of cash and stock.
Martin Swarzman was replaced, by Richard R. Dwyer Jr., 39, as chairman of the board and is no longer serving as a director. In addition, Dwyer will remain as a company executive and Wayne Santini, 41, will remain as president/chief creative officer and a director. Richard K. Hagen, 38, was employed in December 1996 as chief executive officer and a director. Steven H. Grundstedt, 45, was employed as chief financial officer and a director. [reference]
Newreach announced in late January 1997 that it had acquired "intellectual property rights to implement high speed Internet access though Cable TV plants" (Business Wire, 1/27/97), but then had to back-pedal when it was "unable to arrange financing required to implement" the acquisition of those rights.
Newreach's inability to finance the high-speed Internet access deal came about because of "material discrepancies that surfaced as a result of NewReach conducting its financial audit."
Shareholders of Maverick Limited also demanded rescission (undoing) of Newreach's acquisition of Maverick. Soon thereafter, Newreach sued Maverick, claiming that Maverick was taking the position that it no longer was part of Newreach, and that Maverick and NewReach's former president Wayne Santini had taken off with assets, clients, and money."
